Alexis de Tocqueville was a writer from France. He visited the United States back in the 1800s. He had some complimentary things to say about American volunteers. “They hardly ever failed to lend faithful support to each other,” he wrote in his famous book Democracy in America. What if Mr. de Tocqueville visited your hometown today? Would he spot you “lending faithful support” to those nearby?

You don’t have to be a grownup to volunteer. Play volunteer bingo! Click here to print your own bingo card. To win, do four activities in a row going down, across, or diagonally. Email us at WORLDkidseditor@wng.org when you get four in a row. Tell us about your service!
