On Mackinac Island, no cars are allowed. That makes it a great spot for horses to get summer jobs!

Mackinac Island is in Michigan. People call it the all-natural theme park of America. It seems frozen in time. At this time of year, people start hearing horse hooves clomp around the streets again. That means spring has come.

About 500 horses ride boats to Mackinac Island in the spring when the ice around the island has melted. The ferry ride takes 35 minutes. The horses will haul taxi cabs and carriages all summer. They will carry guests to golf courses or restaurants. Let the fun begin!

“Do you give the horse his might? Do you clothe his neck with a mane?”—Job 39:19
