Seven elephants are heavy. But this animal was heavier. A basketball court is long. But this animal was longer. A three-story building is tall. But this animal was taller. What is it, you ask? It’s a big dino with a name that fits: Dreadnoughtus.

Dreadnoughtus means “Fearing Nothing.” That makes sense. What could scare an 85-foot-long dinosaur? The animal was a titanosaur, the largest type of dinosaur known. It walked on four sturdy legs. It had a long neck and powerful tail.

Dreadnoughtus was heavy—maybe even the heaviest land animal. But scientists can’t say for sure. No one has ever found a complete titanosaur skeleton. Scientists did find many of Dreadnoughtus’ bones, though. They found part of a jaw, a tooth, ribs, backbones, tailbones, and partial leg bones. Researchers were happy. The various pieces allowed them to put an almost complete skeleton together—at least more complete than any other titanosaur. This kind of new evidence is something to be thankful for. It shows us just how big God really is.

Dreadnoughtus was huge. But guess what? It might have still been growing when it died. Just think how big it might have gotten!
