Finally! The public is getting a peek into the time capsule Paul Revere and Samuel Adams buried 200 years ago. Can you guess what was inside?

Unpacking the box was a scary task—even for experts. First, it took four hours to remove the box’s screws. The people working on the box worried. What if the items inside were too fragile to move? Malcolm Rogers, director of Boston's Museum of Fine Arts told CNN: "It was like brain surgery, with history looking down on us." Now that’s something you don’t want to mess up!

Inside they found five newspapers, official records from the Massachusetts colony, and at least 24 coins. There was even a silver plate. Paul Revere probably made and engraved it.

What a treasure! But the experts were right to worry that it might have decayed. That’s how earthly treasure works. Only one kind of treasure lasts: the kind you store in heaven.

“Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” —Matthew 6:20
