Susannah Mushatt Jones lives in New York City. Emma Morano—shown in this picture—lives in Italy. But the two women share a huge honor. They are the only people left in the world who were born in the 1800s!

These ladies were born in 1899. Can you imagine what they must have seen in their lifetimes? When they were born, electricity was brand new. The two lived through two World Wars and the Great Depression. They saw the Wright Brothers take their first flight. They were around to see the first African American become U.S. president.

Both Ms. Jones and Ms. Morano are very healthy for their age. What’s their secret? Every day, Ms. Morano eats two raw eggs and some raw steak. Ms. Jones eats several slices of bacon each morning.

Ms. Jones will turn 116 next week. Ms. Morano will turn 116 in November.

Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days. — Job 12:12
