Lorenzo Veltri is a judge for the Guinness World Records. And on Saturday, he had some serious measuring to do. He was measuring the longest pizza in the world!

The night before, more than 60 of Italy’s best pizza-makers gathered. They worked all night. They spread two tons of tomato sauce on the dough. Then they sprinkled on one and a half tons of mozzarella cheese. In the morning, their pizza weighed five tons. It stretched almost a mile long!

The bakers made the huge pie at the 2015 Milan Expo to celebrate the 126th birthday of the margherita pizza. Best of all, visitors to the Expo got a slice for free.
