That isn’t a patient! It’s a spacesuit! And it needs some serious work.

An Italian astronaut was in space in 2013. A pump inside his spacesuit got clogged. His helmet started to fill with water. At first, water gathered behind his head. Next it covered his ears, eyes, and nose. He started imagining a newspaper headline. "Italian astronaut drowns in space.”

But he did not drown. His team rescued him first. Now doctors and astronauts are working together. Can they solve the problem?

They put the helmet through a CT scanner. That created red, black, and white 3-D images. Engineers can study them. Doctors think medical techniques can help find future problems. Now that’s teamwork!
