When was the last time you saw someone drink Coca-Cola out of a tiny, 6.5-ounce glass bottle?
Before 1955, everybody drank soda that way. But since then sodas have gotten bigger…and bigger…and bigger. That’s great for the Coca-Cola and Pepsi Companies. At least, it used to be.
But now people are catching on. Big sodas are making them overweight and sick. Once, people bought a whole 62-ounces of soda at once. Now they’re drinking healthy bottled water instead.
That, as you can imagine, is not so good for soda companies. That’s why they’re switching back. For them, littler cans might mean bigger money.
Coke and Pepsi’s “mini-cans” hold 7.5 ounces of soda. That means fewer calories. But soda in those cute little cans can cost more than twice as much per ounce. Will health conscious people buy the cans anyway?
The Bible says our bodies are temples. If you know God, the Holy Spirit lives inside you. What an amazing thing! Does that make you want to take care of your body? Health experts are right. Drinking huge bottles of soda won’t help you take care of your temple!
But God also calls us to use our money well. Do you think the smaller, more expensive cans are worth it?
