Samantha Cristoforetti isn’t just the first Italian woman in space. This weekend she also became the first person in space to drink espresso!

Ms. Cristoforetti has been in space for half a year. She lives on the International Space Station. She will return to Earth next week. The new espresso coffee machine arrived just in time.

God gives people creativity. That makes their lives more fun. People at an Italian company invented the space espresso machine. Ms. Cristoforetti sipped the brew out of a Zero Gravity cup. Zero Gravity cups make it possible to drink in a place with no gravity. They keep coffee from flying out of the cup toward your face.

And how was the espresso? It had to be better than the usual instant coffee astronauts drink. Ms. Cristoforetti gave it a big thumbs up.
