Up, up, and . . .

Oh no. The SpaceX rocket, launched on Sunday from Cape Canaveral, broke apart in the air. The rocket looked fine at first. But when it was almost out of sight, watchers saw a poof of smoke. Fire shot out. Pieces of the rocket fell into the Atlantic Ocean.

No one was in the rocket. The rocket was supposed to deliver supplies to the International Space Station. Thankfully, the astronauts living on the ISS still have enough food and water to survive until October. But the International Space Station will need supplies soon. And getting them to space isn’t easy! Three missions headed for the ISS have failed in the last eight months.

What went wrong on the rocket? No one is sure yet. But experts are looking hard for the answer.
