And this year’s Hero Dog award goes to . . . Tara the cat!

Last May, Tara’s four-year-old owner Jeremy Triantafilo was riding his bicycle in his driveway. A neighbor’s dog escaped from its yard. It ran to Jeremy. It grabbed hold of his leg with its teeth. Jeremy was knocked off his bike.

But within moments, Tara appeared. She body slammed the dog! Then she chased it away.

On Friday, Tara won the 33rd Annual National Hero Dog Award in Los Angeles. On the trophy, the word “Dog” was scratched out. “Cat” was written in its place.

The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. — Psalm 121:7
