What would it be like if thousands of people got married at once? This Indonesian bride could tell you. She would probably say, “It’s cheap!”

And she would be right. Mass weddings are very common in Indonesia. This one happened on January 28, 2015. The Indonesian Armed Forces paid for it. That made it easier for brides and grooms. Many could not afford private weddings. Indonesia had a similar wedding in 2011. Fifteen thousand people came to the reception! No one would want to pay for that!

But Indonesia isn’t the only spot where thousands of people tie the knot at the same time. Once, 30,000 couples got married in Washington. Another time, 21,000 people got married in Seoul, South Korea.

Talk about sharing your day! Marriage is a gift from God. It’s worth celebrating. But would you want to share your wedding with thousands?
